by Ewan Campbell
The Misinformation Machine was commissioned by Listenpony, and first performed at Listenpony #14, June 2017, by Magnard Ensemble.
Ewan Campbell says of the piece:
This pithy and whimsical musical satire is loosely inspired by the term used to describe the dissemination of falsehoods by political entities and corporate lobbyists. Manipulative linguistic methods such as Orwellian 'double-speak', fake-news, entrainment, and 'Chinese' whispers are interpreted musically in the piece.
